July · month profile
Everything works and the coast is the price
July is the only month with almost nothing closed and the first with a real cost. The Alps are excellent. The Riviera is at 26°C in the water and at its most expensive out of it, the coast road is slow, and Ksamil is where the crowding is worst. Two wet days in the whole month.

Asked about July
Is Ksamil worth it in July?
For the water, yes. For the day, only if you arrive early. Sunbeds run 1,500-3,000 lek on standard beaches and 2,000-4,000 lek for a central pair at peak; Himarë and the villages south of it cost less and are visibly calmer.
How hot does it get in July?
The southern coast averages 32°C by day and does not drop below 22°C at night. Inland valleys such as Berat and Gjirokastër feel hotter because they hold the heat.
Is July good for the Albanian Alps?
Yes. All the trails are open and the valleys sit several degrees cooler than the coast. Guesthouses fill, so book the Theth and Valbonë nights first.
Do I need to book the Koman ferry in July?
Book it. The 09:00 from Koman sells out in high summer, and a car costs considerably more than a foot passenger's EUR 9 to 10.
How much is a beer on the Riviera?
250-400 lek in a bar in 2026, against 150-250 lek in 2023. Prices rose roughly 30 to 40 percent across the coast over that period.
