Corfu ferry or flying to Tirana, for the south?

If the trip is Butrint, Ksamil and the bottom of the Riviera, the boat from Corfu lands you in the middle of it and the plane lands you a day's driving away. There is no third option: the coast has no working airport.

Our answer

Take the ferry if the trip is the far south and nothing else, and fly to Tirana if it is the country. A EUR 20 to 30 crossing puts you half an hour from Butrint; the flight puts you 364 measured kilometres and about eight hours of driving away from the same place. What settles it is the car: the ferry cannot bring one over from Corfu, so a ferry trip is Sarandë, Butrint, Ksamil and whatever a bus reaches, while a Tirana trip has the whole coast road in it.
