November · month profile
The north shuts on a date
Two closures land inside a fortnight: the Koman tourist ferry stops on 5 November and the Theth road usually closes around the middle of the month. What remains is the inland country in its wet season, with thirteen rain days on the coast and the mildest, emptiest city weeks of the year in Tirana.

Asked about November
When does the Koman ferry stop for the winter?
5 November. The operator states it does not run between 6 November and 14 April. The Dragobia boat continues year-round for residents but is not a tourist service.
When does the Theth road close?
Typically mid-November, and earlier if the snow comes early. It reopens in late March or early April.
Is November worth it at all?
For Tirana and the UNESCO towns, yes: it is mild, crowd-free and cheap. For anything north of Shkodër or on a beach, no.
How much rain does November get?
About thirteen days of 1 mm or more on the southern coast, the joint wettest month of the year with January.
Can you still get to Valbonë in November?
By road through Kosovo and Bajram Curri, in principle. Not by ferry, and the crossing to Theth is not on.
