Getting there

car, bus. Roughly three to three and a half hours from Tirana, close to the North Macedonian border. From the town centre to the baths a minibus runs, or a taxi; by car it is east from town toward the Banja Torrent area.

Steam reads best on a cold still morning, which is also when the springs are worth using, so the two line up here in a way they rarely do. Check drone requirements with the AAC before travelling.

Llixhat e Peshkopisë is a state-owned thermal complex two kilometres east of Peshkopi, in Dibër county. The main spring group runs between 35 and 43.5 °C, which is hot rather than warm, and a second group about six hundred metres away runs cooler at 29.2 to 35.5 °C. The same underground source feeds Llixhat e Elbasanit and Kosovrasti across the North Macedonian border.

That temperature is why this page's year runs backwards to the rest of the site. A 43 °C soak is a poor idea in an Albanian August and a very good one in February. Compare Bënjë in the south, which is lukewarm at 22 to 32 °C and therefore a summer proposition: the two are not substitutes, they are opposite seasons.

The complex charges, and no amount for it could be confirmed, so none is printed. What is publishable is the shape of it: the main balnear complex is state-owned and paid, and there is separately a natural outdoor basin in the spring area with free public access, apart from the hotel and treatment facilities.

The facility documents its water as suitable for respiratory conditions, rheumatism, diabetes, skin disorders and gynaecological issues. That is the operator's own therapeutic indication rather than evidence, and it is repeated here as theirs. The same source warns about heat stress and advises limiting soak time, which is the practical half of the same fact.
