Karaburun is the long uninhabited peninsula that closes the bay of Vlorë, and the traverse along it is about 12 km with 600 m of climbing, four to six hours. There is no village on it, no spring you should rely on, and no road out. Whatever you carry is what you have.
Access is the whole planning problem. Boats from Orikum and Radhimë land walkers on the east-coast bays and collect them later, and the walk is therefore bounded at both ends by somebody else's schedule. Agree the pick-up point and the pick-up time before you step off the boat, and treat a rising afternoon wind as a reason to be back at the shore early. The naval base at Pashaliman sits on the approach and is not a place to wander into.
May, June, September and October are the months this works. In July and August the ridge is unshaded at the hottest part of the year and the boats are busy carrying swimmers, and from November to April the crossings stop altogether. This site publishes no boat fare, because none has been checked against an operator.
