Right now, in August: ok. Peak crowds on boats. Read the whole of August.
Vlorë is a working city with a waterfront, and it is the hinge between the flat coast to the north and the Riviera to the south. Above it the SH8 climbs into the Llogara pass, where the pine forest stops at a drop straight down to the Ionian.
The wild half is offshore. The Karaburun peninsula has no road at all: it is reached by boat from Vlorë or Orikum, along with Sazan island beyond it, and those boats keep a summer season. That puts the region's best month and its busiest month closer together than anywhere else on this coast.
