Getting there
car. Half an hour south of Vlorë on the SH8, before the road climbs to the Llogara pass. Most people come for a boat rather than for the town, and the boats leave early.

The Pashaliman naval base is on this bay and is a serious enforcement zone: do not fly here. On the ground, the lagoon behind the town takes the evening light. Ask the AAC about the national requirement before you travel.

Orikum is a small town at the southern end of Vlorë bay, where the plain runs out and the Llogara climb begins. It has a marina, a lagoon behind it, and the remains of Orikos, a Greek harbour town that is one of the older classical sites on this coast.
The reason most travellers end up here is the boats. Karaburun and Sazan are day trips from this quay and from Vlorë, and the season for them runs roughly May to October, because the boats do not go out in winter.
It is also next door to the Pashaliman naval base, which matters in one practical way: this is not a place to fly a drone, and that is enforced.
