August: ok. Peak everything, though seven kilometres absorbs it better than anywhere else here.

Getting there

car, bus. The SH8, the single coastal road. Summer furgons and buses link Vlorë, Dhërmi, Himarë, Borsh and Sarandë, and Borsh sits on the Himarë to Borsh minibus line, but the services thin out sharply once the season ends.

Parking: Roadside and informal parking along the beach road.

The length is the subject, so it wants a long lens down the shingle or height from the SH8 above it rather than a wide shot from the sand. Check drone requirements with the AAC before travelling.

Drone: not confirmed. Albania's registration requirement is reported differently by every secondary source, so verify with the AAC before you fly.

Borsh is about seven kilometres long, which makes it the longest beach on the Albanian Ionian coast, and that single number is most of the reason to come. On a coast where the good beaches are small bays that fill by ten in the morning, a beach this long cannot fill. You park, you walk for ten minutes, and the umbrellas stop.

What it does not have is the development that follows a famous bay. There are stretches with a bar and a set of loungers and stretches with nothing at all, and the sunbed market that goes with that is the cheapest on the ranked coast. It is shingle rather than sand, below olive groves, with the ruins of a hilltop castle above.

June and September are the months to take it. Both give warm water and open bars without July and August's heat and without the SH8 carrying the entire coast's traffic past the turning.
